Part I
Part II
The second phase of this project provided a series of skills learning art workshops held with young adults and children at the L14 Community Centre.
The workshop sessions culminated in an outdoor event including demonstrations, further workshops and an exhibition at Knowsley Flower Show on 8th August 2010.
Participants learned to work with wood in many ways including the traditional methods of the pole lathe, creating a collaborative sculpture.
Initial inspiration came from a familiar structures found in our everyday environment - telegraph poles. The final sculpture forms a totem for our modern age -like wooden telegraph pole made up from individual wood-turned elements.
This project was created, organised and fundraised for by The Green Fuse
The idea for the shape and style of this project came from looking at the telegraph poles, insulators and cables we see all around us. Click on an image to enlarge
