Creative Recycling
Our method of combining creativity with learning is ideally suited to educational art workshops. Our projects are focused on making art objects that encourage an awareness of the environment & embrace basics of alternative technologies. At these workshops we demonstrate how to appreciate found materials as a medium for that art, how to recycle waste into art objects & how to use alternative power sources and the environmental agenda as theme for creativity.
Making bee themed sculptures with schools
The workshops were held at Dovedale infants school, where the groups learnt about honey bees and made bee-like insect sculptures using willow, tissue paper and decorations
The exhibition was held at the Green Fayre alongside other bee-theme stalls and activities including honey-pot making workshops, bee-sound installations, bee-keepers stall and giant queen bee sculpture making
This project formed a part of our activities at the Knowsley Green Fayre event 2009, held at the National Wildflower Centre
The theme of the Honey Bee is in acknowledgement of the insects plight and endangerment in recent times.
The project was created and fundraised for by the Green Fuse. The project leaders included several members of The Green Fuse team, as well as a local bee-keeper, a clay potter and a local musician and composer
